When does W-2 need to be sent out to employees?

You must send Form W-2 to employees by January 31, 2025, for the 2024 tax year. If employee copies are not distributed by this deadline, penalties may apply.

TaxBandits simplifies this process with Postal Mailing and BanditShare (Online Access) features for efficient distribution. For employees who have not viewed, downloaded, or accessed their forms via BanditShare by January 29, 2025, or for whom postal mailing was not enabled during form submission, TaxBandits will automatically mail the forms to employers if the Smart Mail feature is enabled.
