The state of Virginia has rejected my 1099/W2 forms. How to fix the errors and retransmit?

If your 1099/W2 forms have been rejected by the state of Virginia, you can fix the errors and retransmit your forms in TaxBandits. Typically, forms are rejected for reasons such as:

  • State account number errors
  • Incorrect total state tax withholding amount

Steps to View and Retransmit the Rejected Forms:

Step 1: Navigate to the 1099/W2 section from the dashboard.

Step 2: Select the payer and tax year.

Step 3: Click on 'Federal/State Rejected Forms' -> 'State Rejections' to view the list of rejected forms.

Step 4: Click the 'Fix' button under the 'Action' column next to the payer for whom you want to retransmit.

Step 5: Follow the instructions to correct the errors, then click the 'Fix and Retransmit' button.

Once the errors are fixed, you can review the information and retransmit your forms to the state agency.

Note: If your 1099/W2 forms were rejected for other reasons, you may need to contact the state agency
