How to fix USPS validation errors on my 1099 forms?

Key Points to Remember:

  • Any incorrect address must be corrected within 96 hours or the scheduled submission date, whichever is later. 
  • If not corrected, the forms will be mailed to the provided address (if postal mailing is enabled) and transmitted to the federal/state agency with the same address as originally reported.

Follow the steps below to fix the USPS validation error:

Step 1: Sign in to your TaxBandits account.

Step 2: Select the payer from the dashboard.


Step 3:  Navigate to ‘All Submitted forms’ under the Submitted tab and click ‘Fix Error’ next to the applicable recipient in the USPS Verification column.


Step 4: Enter the correct address validated by USPS in the popup, and click ‘Validate & Save’.

Once done, the recipient's address will be updated successfully.
