When does the payment gets withdrawn from my bank account for the EFW payment option?

When you choose to pay the tax balance using EFW, the Payment Request Date is the date when the actual debit will occur from your account.

It's important to note that the Payment Request Date will default to the date of transmission of the return in TaxBandits. To avoid IRS penalties, ensure that you have sufficient funds in your account on that date.

Further, if the requested payment date falls on a weekend or bank holiday, the payment will be withdrawn on the next business day.

If the payment withdrawal does not occur on the expected date after the IRS accepts your return, please contact the IRS e-file Payment Service at 1-888-353-4537. However, we suggest waiting at least 10 days after the IRS accepts your return before making the call.

In case the IRS rejects your payment even after the waiting period, please check the e-filed return summary on your TaxBandits account to ensure that the bank account information you provided for IRS payment withdrawal is accurate before contacting the IRS.
