Last modified 5/20/2025 12:47:03 AM EST If you're using TaxBandits as a tax professional to file on behalf of clients, you'll be prompted to complete ‘Tax Professional Details’. This helps us tailor your filing workflow and prefill your credentials with each filing—saving time, improving accuracy, and aligning with IRS regulations. Choose your filer type Start by choosing your filer type that best describes your role. This helps us tailor the filing experience and determine the additional information required. Once selected, you’ll prompted to enter details such as: Firm name EIN PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number), Electronic Return Originator (ERO), or RA PIN (based on the filer type) These details will be securely saved and automatically mapped to the corresponding fields on the tax forms you prepare. Provide proof of authorization To meet IRS requirements and verify your authority to file on behalf of others, we may request supporting documentation for certain filer types. This ensures your filings are trusted and accurately processed. For example, if you’re an ERO, you’ll be prompted to upload a copy of your IRS e-file Application Summary showing a Provider Option Status of "Active". See where to find copy Providing accurate information and valid authorization documents helps prevent delays, supports IRS compliance, and ensures that your filings are handled correctly by the system.
