When is the deadline to file Form 1099-B?

For the 2023 Tax Year, February 15, 2024, is the due date to distribute Recipient copies, February 28, 2024, is the due date to Paper file with the IRS, and April 1, 2024, is the due date to file Form 1099-B electronically.

It's important to note that if you're filing 250 or more Form 1099-B forms, you must file them electronically with the IRS. It's also important to make sure that you have furnished a copy of the form to the recipient in a timely manner, as failure to do so may result in penalties. Additionally, if any federal income tax was withheld from the proceeds, it must be reported and remitted to the IRS in a timely manner.
