If you need to update information on multiple 1099 forms that are currently in progress status all at once, You can easily do it in a few simple steps. Just follow the instructions to update the information.
Step 1: Navigate to the 1099/W-2 dashboard.
Step 2: Click on "In progress" to view forms in progress for the selected tax year and business.
Step 3: Choose "Export as Excel" to import the in-progress data.
Step 4: Upon clicking the "Export as Excel", you'll be prompted with the bulk download draft copies window.
Step 5: Select the 1099 form type, choose “Unmasked TIN,” and Click "Generate Draft Copies".
Step 6: Once the draft copy is ready for download in the selected format, click "Download" and edit the required information in the downloaded template.
Step 7: Select "Start new Form" from the dashboard and choose the required 1099 forms.
Step 8: Click "Start now" under the Recipient-only bulk upload option.
Step 9: Choose the business name from the drop-down menu for which you want to edit the returns and click "Save & Continue."
Step 10: Upload the edited Excel template by either dragging and dropping the file or selecting it from your system. Click “Continue.”
Step 11: Here, you will be shown two options: "Create New Form" and "Overwrite Existing Form."
- Create New Form: The information that you uploaded will be updated as a new entry
- Overwrite Existing Form: The information that you uploaded will overwrite the existing data
Now Select "Overwrite Existing Form."
Step 12: Now your data has been updated, review the information, click "Continue to Import," and proceed with the payment and transmission process.
