How to file an extension to send recipient copies for the recipients?

Form 8809, "Application for Extension of Time to File Information Returns," is a form that both businesses and individuals use to request an extension of the due date for filing federal tax forms. 

Follow the below steps to fill out form 8809 in TaxBandits:

• Sign in to your TaxBandits account. 
• In the dashboard, click Start New >> Form >>8809 under the Extension Form category.

There are three categories of extension forms. If you want to file an extension to send recipient copies, then click the Select & Continue button under the Extension to send recipient copies of information returns.

• Select the Business Name by clicking on the Select Business button or enter the new business information for which you need to file the extension for the recipes copies of information return. Click Save & Continue.
• Select the form type for which you need to file the extension for sending recipient copies. The extended due date will also be displayed.

• You can View Form 8809 and Download Form 8809. 

Please note that it is your responsibility to download and fax the generated Form 8809 to the IRS. TaxBandits will only provide the PDF for printing, and we will NOT file the form with the IRS.
