How do I verify my identity to transmit returns to the IRS?

After you complete your return, you will be prompted to complete the Identity verification. You then need to begin the identity verification process within 15 minutes to transmit your return to the IRS through TaxBandits successfully.

However, before you start the process, ensure you have a valid government-issued ID.  When you’re ready, follow these steps:

  • Click "Get Verified” on the page where you are prompted to complete the verification.

  • Enter your name and the government-issued ID type. Then, click "Verify."

  • Capture a clear image of your identity card—both front and back.

  • Take a “selfie” in real-time as prompted.

Veriff will then begin the identity verification process. If the verification is successful, you will become a validated user, and your return will be transmitted to the IRS.
