If you select the option to pay the tax balance using EFTPS, you are responsible for setting up the payment.
To pay the tax, please visit www.EFTPS.gov website, or you can use the voice response system (1.800.555.3453) to schedule your payment.
It is recommended that you schedule your payment by 8 PM EST on the day before it is due to ensure that the IRS receives it on time. The funds will be moved out of your account on the date you select and you will receive a payment notification from EFTPS.
Note: You must be enrolled to use the EFTPS® tax payment service. There are a few different ways to get enrolled:
Visit https://www.eftps.gov or call the following EFTPS® Customer Service number to request an enrollment form:
- 800-555-4477
- 877-333-8292 (Federal Agencies)
- 800-733-4829 (TDD Hearing-Impaired)
- 800-244-4829 (Español)
To successfully enroll in EFTPS®, the IRS will need to validate your information, and you will need to allow time for this. Once this process is complete, you will receive a personal identification number (PIN) from the IRS by mail within 5-7 business days to your address on record. You will use this PIN, to log in to your EFTPS account.
