The Reporting Agent PIN is a unique identifier assigned to the reporting agent by the IRS. The reporting agent (who is a third-party entity authorized by the employer) includes their PIN while filing Forms 94x series (such as Forms 941, 940, 943, and 944) on behalf of employers to the IRS.  This, in turn, signifies that the reporting agent is authorized to submit the filings on behalf of the employer to the IRS.
