If you deferred the social security taxes in 2021, you must pay the deferred taxes as follows:

Deadline to pay the employer share of deferred social security taxes

• Pay 50% of your taxes on or before January 3, 2022.
• Pay the remaining taxes on or before January 3, 2023.

Deadline to pay the employee share of deferred social security taxes

• Pay the deferred taxes on or before January 3, 2022.

Note: You cannot defer the employee and employer shares of social security taxes for 2022.
