How does an ERO send the Form 8879-EMP to the taxpayer for their signature?

In the filing flow of 94x forms, in the Signature page, the ERO has multiple options to request the taxpayer to authorize Form 8879-EMP:

  1. 'By E-sign', where they can request the taxpayer to e-sign the Form 8879-EMP. An email with a link to e-sign the form is sent to the taxpayer for their signature.
  2. 'By Other Means', where the ERO has to option to download and print a pre-filled Form 8879-EMP and have them signed by the taxpayer. Alternatively, they can email a pre-filled Form 8879-EMP to the taxpayer. Once the have it signed, a scanned copy of the same is to be uploaded to complete the authorization process.

The IRS does not need the signed copy of Form 8879-EMP through TaxBandits to maintain a copy for your records.
