Not necessary! If you have the taxpayer's self-selected PIN, we can use that to pre-fill Form 8879-EMP and have it e-signed by the taxpayer. If you don't have the taxpayer's PIN, you have the option to choose any self-selected PIN on the taxpayer's behalf and have the taxpayer e-sign the Form 8879-EMP.

You don't necessarily have to choose a different self-selected PIN for each of your taxpayers. Check out the option to use the same across all taxpayers when you set a taxpayer's PIN with a non-zero five-digit PIN of your choice.
