How to void a 1099 that was filed?

If you realize that you filed a 1099 form unnecessarily, you should void it. TaxBandits allows you to void 1099 forms filed through our platform. Please note that you can only void a 1099 form after the IRS has accepted it.

Here are the steps to void your 1099 return:

Step 1: Sign in to your TaxBandits account.

Step 2: On the dashboard, click 'Start New Form' —> '1099/1098 Corrections.'

Step 3: You’ll be navigated to the corrections page. Click ‘Void’ next to the payer for whom you want to void the form. If you want to make corrections to the form, you have the option to select ‘Make Correction.’

Step 4: check the VOID box at the top. All the amount fields will automatically be set to zero. Once done, click ‘Save and Continue’ to proceed.
