Can I modify the 1099/W-2 forms I've scheduled?


Yes, you can make certain changes to the 1099/W-2 forms you've scheduled before they are transmitted to the IRS or state agencies. However, please note that some modifications may require additional steps or adjustments to your filing schedule. 

Here’s an overview of what you can modify and how it impacts your filing:

  • Reschedule Filing

    • If your filing plans change, you can either transmit your forms immediately or adjust the scheduled transmission date.

    • To do so, simply navigate to the ‘1099/W-2’ Dashboard —> ‘Scheduled Forms’ and click the ‘Reschedule /Cancel’ option to reschedule the transmission date for the forms.
       

  • Cancel Order or Specific Forms

    • If you realize that forms were scheduled by mistake or need to be canceled, you can choose to cancel the entire order or specific forms.

    • Once you cancel, the service fee will be refunded to your BanditCash, which you can use for resubmission.

    • To do so, simply navigate to the ‘1099/W-2’ Dashboard —> ‘Scheduled Forms’ and click the ‘Reschedule /Cancel’ option to reschedule the transmission date for the forms.
       

  • Edit Payer, Recipient, or Amounts Reported to IRS/SSA

    You can update certain details without impacting the scheduled filing date, including:
     
    • Payer Information: Update the payer’s name, TIN, address, etc. Changes will apply to all in-progress and scheduled forms associated with that payer.
       
    • Recipient Information: Update recipient details such as their name, TIN, address, etc. These changes will be reflected across all in-progress and scheduled forms associated with that recipient.
       
    • Amounts Reported to IRS/SSA: Modify details like federal income, withholding, etc.

To make changes, click the edit icon next to the corresponding recipient in the ‘1099/W-2’ Dashboard → ‘Scheduled Forms.’
 

  • Add or Edit State Information

    If you need to add a new state or modify the state information on your forms, you’ll need to cancel the forms scheduled for the corresponding payer in the order, update the state information, and resubmit the forms.

    What happens when you cancel the order:

    • All forms submitted for the corresponding payer in this order will be canceled.
    • The service fee will be refunded to your BanditCash.
    • You can use the BanditCash to resubmit your forms under the ‘1099/W-2’ Dashboard → ‘Ready To File.
