What happens if the IRS rejects my return?

If the IRS rejects your return, don’t worry—TaxBandits has you covered through the Bandit Commitment.

  1. You’ll be notified immediately

As soon as your return is rejected, you’ll receive an email and in-app notification with the reason for rejection and instructions on how to fix it.

We’re here to support you every step of the way to ensure your filing is successful.

  1. You can correct and retransmit at no extra cost

Most rejections are due to minor errors, like typos, incorrect TINs, or mismatched information. You can:

  • Edit the return directly within your account

  • Follow the on-screen guidance to resolve the issue

  • Retransmit the corrected return for free (no additional filing fee)

  1. If the return can’t be corrected, you may be eligible for a refund

We’re confident in the accuracy of our service. If you can’t get your form accepted, or if it turns out to be a duplicate, we’ll refund your filing fee. You can contact our support team at support@taxbandits.com to request a refund.
