What are the taxes applicable to Tennessee?

Tennessee has unemployment insurance, and it must be registered with the Tennesse state. However, Tenessee has no state income tax. Here are the tax agencies to report unemployment insurance

State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) tax registration

  • To report the SUI taxes, you must register with the Department of Labor and Workforce Development.

  • Employers must fill out the Report to determine status from (LB-0441) and mail it to EmployerStaus.Rates@tn.gov.

If the Tennessee Department of Labor decides you need to pay unemployment tax, they will send you an eight-digit EIN (XXXX-XXX X) and unemployment tax rate.

Minimum wage rate for Texas

The minimum wage rate for Texas is the same as the federal minimum wage rate. 

UI wage rate

UI taxes are used to provide benefits for the unemployed who have lost their job with no fault on them.
