To report Income tax withholding and Unemployment Insurance, You must register with the Employment Development Department(EDD) to report income taxes and unemployment insurance taxes.
To register for income tax and unemployment insurance, follow the steps given below.
Creating a Username and Password
- To get the username and password, click Enroll
- Enter the personal information, answer the security questions, and then select submit.
- Complete the enrollment process by clicking the verification link sent to your mail by California EDD.
Register for Tax Account Number
- Sign in to the E-service for Business profile using the username and password.
- Now, Select a ‘New employer’
- Choose Register for Employer Payroll Tax Account Number and provide the required information.
- Submit the online registration application. Once it is processed, you will receive your account number within 10-15 days.
