What is Form DE 9?

Form DE 9 (Quarterly Contribution Return and Report of Wages) is a California tax form that requires all employers to report their wages and pay quarterly taxes. It is filed each quarter. If there is an overpayment, the EDD will refund the amount automatically. If the taxes are due, payment should be submitted with Payroll Tax Deposit(DE 88 Form). It is mandatory to file DE 9 even if you haven’t paid your employees during the quarter.
