When do you need to pay additional medicare taxes?

Employees are required to pay an additional medicare tax of 0.9% if they earn more the $200,000 as an individual or $ 250,000 as a married and filing together you are opt for additional medicare taxes. Only employees are eligible for additional medicare taxes.
