The company applicant is an individual who is responsible for filing documents to create or register a business with state authorities, Indian tribes, or other U.S. jurisdictions. The company applicant can be only two persons:
- The individual who submits the document that establishes the entity, or in the case of a foreign reporting company, the document that initially registers the firm to conduct business in the United States.
- The individual is principally responsible for coordinating or overseeing another individual's filing of the necessary document.
Reporting companies will only be required to report their company applicants if they are created or registered on or after January 1, 2024.
