Have questions? We've got you covered! What is TIN Masking?
The IRS allows you to mask your recipients’ TIN on the 1099 copies that you provide them. TIN Masking adds another layer of protection to your recipient copies by replacing 5 digits of their Taxpayer Identification Number with “X”s or asterisks.
TaxBandits has a built-in feature that enables you to mask the TINs. When preparing copies to mail to recipients, you can download the copies with masked TINs from the Print Center. This adds an extra level of security for the recipient forms.
