The State of Kansas mandates 1099 filing based on the amount of state taxes withheld and the total payments made. Below are the filing requirements:
Kansas State ID Format:

15 digits with starting 036 Followed by 9 digits and hyphen followed by F01 (Eg: “036” - Federal EIN - “F01”)

15 digits with starting 036 followed by 9 digits and F constant and hyphen 01 (Eg: 036-123456789F-01)
Required 1099 Forms
Kansas also requires the filing of the following 1099 forms:
- 1099-NEC
- 1099-MISC
- 1099-K
- 1099-INT
- 1099-DIV
- 1099-R
- 1099-B
- 1099-G
- 1099-OID
- W-2G

Criteria 1: If Kansas state tax is withheld

Payment Threshold: More than $0

Filing Method: Direct State Filing

You must file a 1099 directly with the state.

Additional Form Required: Form KW-3
