What is Form 940 Amendment?

Form 940 Amendment, also known as Adjusted Employer's Annual Federal Unemployment (FUTA) Tax Return, is a form used by employers to correct errors or make changes to a previously filed Form 940.

This must be filed within a certain timeframe after the original Form 940 was filed and must include a detailed explanation of the changes being made. The IRS will review the amendment and make any necessary adjustments to the employer's tax liability.
