Who are Multi-State Employers?

Multi-state firms must pay state unemployment taxes in more than one state since they hire employees from multiple states. Check the box on line 1b of Form 940 to indicate that you are a multi-state employer. To find out information on credit reduction, you must also complete Schedule A (Form 940) and attach it.
