When is the deadline to file Form 1099-C?

Form 1099-C consists of several copies. Copy A is submitted to the IRS, while Copy B is given to the recipient, and Copy C is retained by the creditor. 

The deadline for submitting IRS Form 1099-C for the 2024 tax year is February 28, 2025. The cutoff date to provide Copy B is January 31, 2025. If you plan to file Form 1099-C electronically, your deadline is March 31, 2025.
