Reemployment Trade Adjustment Assistance (RTAA) is a wage subsidy benefit that pays eligible trade-affected workers 50% of the difference between their old wages and new wages.
Criteria for receiving this RTAA payment:
RTAA-eligible workers must:
- Be at least 50 years old
- Have lost a job at a trade-affected company
- Not require separate certification of group eligibility
- Participate in TAA-approved training
- Hold another job with lower wages
- Receive a wage supplement from their state
