What is the RTAA payment?

Reemployment Trade Adjustment Assistance (RTAA) is a wage subsidy benefit that pays eligible trade-affected workers 50% of the difference between their old wages and new wages.

Criteria for receiving this RTAA payment:

RTAA-eligible workers must:

• Be at least 50 years old
• Have lost a job at a trade-affected company
• Not require separate certification of group eligibility
• Participate in TAA-approved training
• Hold another job with lower wages
• Receive a wage supplement from their state
