Until 2020, employers were mandated to provide qualified sick and family leave wages, according to the FFCRA. For Quarter 1, 2021, it is not mandatory for employers to provide these leave wages. However, if employers choose to provide paid leave wages, they can claim the tax credits on or before September 30, 2021. But, they can claim credits only for the wages paid through April 1, 2021.
