What is 8453-EMP?

The IRS Form 8453-EMP is used to:

• Authenticate to file and sign the taxpayers' 94x employment tax return electronically;
• Authorize the tax professionals to transmit via a third party; and
• Authorize an electronic funds withdrawal for payment of federal taxes owed.

The Tax Professionals must file Form 8453-EMP along with the 94x returns electronically with the IRS.
