How to import 1099-MISC/1099-NEC recipient information from Xero?

TaxBandits allows you to import the vendor details and payment history from your Xero account to file Form 1099. Follow the steps to import payment details from Xero to file Form 1099-NEC and Form 1099-MISC.
Before beginning the import process, please ensure you have set the following preferences in your Xero account.
In Xero, confirm that your ‘UserRole’ is ‘Advisor'. The 1099 Report is available in Xero under 'Accounting -> Reports -> 1099 Report'.
Once set, here's how you can import Form 1099 recipient information from Xero to TaxBandits
- Sign in to your TaxBandits account.
- From the Dashboard, click File Now against the form (Form 1099-MISC or Form 1099-NEC) you need to file.
- Select the tax year you wish to file the 1099-NEC/MISC form.
- Click the Connect to Xero button against the Xero accounting software.
- Enter your Xero login credentials.
- Select the organization/payer from the dropdown menu and click 'Allow Access'.
- Once successfully connected, the payer/business and vendor/recipient payment information will be imported into TaxBandits.
- Verify the payer/business information and edit if needed. Click Save & Continue.
- Review the recipient payment information that is generated and edit the details as needed.
- View the records imported from your Xero account. To proceed with the 'Ready To File' records, click 'Continue Filing'.
- Review the forms before transmitting them to the IRS and select any add-on services you require, then click 'Continue'.
- Finally, view your cart summary, provide your card details, pay, and Submit the form to the IRS.
If there are any errored records during the import process, they will be listed under the Errors section. You can either fix the errored records or delete those records and continue with the transmission process.
After you transmit the forms, you will receive an order confirmation email with your order details. You can also view the status of your forms from the 1099/W-2 Dashboard in your TaxBandits account.
