The amount you owe to the IRS after reconciling your Tax Liabilities and Deposits for the quarter is the balance due. The balance due can paid through TaxBandits using the following methods:

  1. Electronic Funds Withdrawal (EFW)
  2. Credit/Debit Card
  3. Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS)
  4. Check or Money Order.

  • Electronic Funds Withdrawal

This payment method is applicable for taxpayers with a balance due of less than $2500. If your balance due meets this criterion, choose the EFW payment method and provider your bank details such as Account number and Routing number. The payment will be processed on the requested payment date, and the actual debit occurs on that specified date. If the debit date falls on a weekend or holiday, the amount will be withdrawn on the next business day.

  • Credit Card Payments

If you choose to pay your tax balance using a credit/debit card, there are two payment methods available based on your 94x form balance due.

IRS Credit /Debit Card payment method: After completing the filing, visit https://www.irs.gov/payments/pay-your-taxes-by-debit-or-credit-card to pay your balance due. You are solely responsible for paying the balance due through this method. Note that a convenience fee will be charged by the credit card processor.

TaxBandits payment method: You can pay within your TaxBandits account through our third-party service provider, "ACI Payments, Inc." after the IRS accepts your return. With this payment method, your Form 941 information will be auto-populated, saving time and improving accuracy. You won't need to enter the details again, streamlining the process.

  • Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS)

EFTPS is a free system offered by the U.S. Department of Treasury to pay your federal taxes. If you prefer to pay by EFTPS, it is your sole responsibility to send the payment to the IRS using an EFTPS account after transmitting the return. Visit https://www.eftps.gov/eftps/ to make your balance payment through EFTPS.

You must schedule payments by 8 p.m. ET the day before the due date to be received timely by the IRS. The funds will move out of your banking account on the date you select for settlement.

  • Check or Money Order

To pay by check/money order, you need to download and print the payment voucher Form 941-V and Form 941 from the Print Center. Make your check/money order payable to the U.S. Treasury.

Do not staple or paperclip the check or voucher to the printed copy of the respective Form 941. Mail the voucher and check/money order along with the printed form 941 to the U.S. Treasury at the appropriate address specified on the instruction page. The 941 mailing address varies based on your state.
