How to File Form 940 with TaxBandits?

Follow the simple instructions to e-file your Form 1099 with TaxBandits.  

Step 1: Log in to TaxBandits. 

Step 2: Select 94x Forms-Annual >> Form 940 >> File Now.

 

Step 3: Select the employer to autofill the employer details from the address book or manually enter the employer details and click “Save and Continue”.

Step 4: Choose the required tax year and click “Continue”. 

Step 5: Fill in the required information in the corresponding fields and Click “Save and Continue”.

Note: You are required to File Schedule A (Form  940) if you pay state unemployment tax in more than one state or if the paid wages in any state are subject to credit reduction.

You will be provided with the following payment options 

• Electronic Fund Withdrawal (EFW)
• EFTPS
• Credit Card/ Debit Card 
• Check or Money order 

Step 6: Select the required payment option and click “Next”.

Step 7: Review the Summary of the form and make necessary changes if needed and click “Next”. 

Note: You can download the draft copy of the return by selecting the Download icon under the “Return details” section. 

 

Step 8: Your Form will be audited for errors; if there are any, fix them and Click “Next”. 

 

TaxBandits provides you with two options to e-sign your Form 940.

•  E-sign Form 8453-EMP:  
•  Use 94x Online Signature PIN

Step 9: Select the Required option and head to the next page by clicking “Next”. 

Step 10:  You can opt for the following services 

 

• Text Notification: This option allows TaxBandits to send a text notification to your cell phone once the IRS processes your returns. 
• Postal mailing: Enabling this service allows TaxBandits to send the printed copy of your completed Form 940 through postal mail.
   

Select the required service and click “Next” to proceed with the payment.

 

Step 11: Complete the payment and transmit the forms to the IRS and State. Our system will keep you posted about the status of your forms.



You can also sign in to the TaxBandits and view the status at any time. Form 940 copies will be available in the "Distribution Center" for download.
