TaxBandits provides you with bulk upload templates to upload the data required to complete your 1099 forms in bulk.
Follow the steps below to upload your 1099 data using the TaxBandits Bulk Upload feature.
Step 1:
From the Dashboard, Select the 1099 form you are required to file from the list of forms displayed. Here we have chosen Form 1099-NEC as an example.
Step 2:
Select the tax year for which you are required to file.
Note: TaxBandits supports the e-filing of 1099 forms for the current and the previous tax year.
Step 3:
Click ‘Start Now’ under the ‘Upload Excel/CSV Template’ section.
Step 4:
Provide details about your business. If you have already added the business details, click ‘Select Business’ and choose the business for which you are required to file.
Once done, click 'Save & Continue'.
Step 5:
You can download the template in two formats: XLSX or CSV format.
Follow the instructions provided to fill out the necessary details in the template and save the file. Do not change the file name.
The instructions will be available to view below the download button and also in the template.
Step 6:
After filling out the required information in the template, you can either drag and drop the file or select it from your system. Then, Click ‘Upload’ to continue.
Step 7:
You will be shown a preview of the records. If you are satisfied that the information is mapped correctly, click ‘Continue to Import’.
Note: Only the preview of the first 10 records will be displayed.
If you think the data isn’t mapped correctly, you can edit the template, make changes, and re-upload.
Step 8:
The forms which are ready to be e-filed will be displayed under the ‘Ready to File’ tab. You can view and edit the forms if required.
If there are any errors in the data you uploaded, they will be displayed in the ‘Error Records’ tab.
You have two options to fix the errors:
- Click ‘Fix Error’ near the corresponding record with errors and make changes manually.
- Click the ‘Export Errors’ button at the top, download the template with errors, make changes and upload the template again with the corrected data.
After fixing the errors, you can click ‘Continue Filing’ in the ‘Ready to File’ tab.
Step 9:
You can opt-in to State Filing, Online Access, and Postal services on the 'Review and Select Sevices' page. You can add the services for all the recipients using the Bulk Action drop-down. Click ‘Continue’.
You will be redirected to the cart. There you can make your payment and complete the e-filing. After transmitting, you can get the status of your forms via email and text notifications. Learn More
