The Kansas Department of Revenue requires the filing of the 1099 forms only if there is a state tax withholding. TaxBandits supports the filing of Form 1099 with both the Federal and State of Kansas.
What to be filed
Form 1099 (1099-MISC, 1099-INT, 1099-DIV, 1099-R, 1099-S, 1099-B)
Form KW-3 - Annual Withholding Tax Return
The filing due date for the Form 1099 is February 29 and Form KW-3 is January 31.
A penalty is due at the rate of 15% on the underpayment if the return is filed and tax paid after the due date and prior to February 1 of the following year.
