The State of Kansas mandates filing Form 1099 with the state agency under the following conditions:
Requirements
The state of Kansas is required to file Form 1099 for the taxable non-wage payments the Payer made during the tax year.
Required Forms
Kansas also requires the filing of the following 1099 forms:
- 1099-NEC
- 1099-MISC
- 1099-K
- 1099-INT
- 1099-DIV
- 1099-R
- 1099-B
- 1099-G
- 1099-OID
- W-2G
Threshold
Kansas has a specific payment threshold for Form 1099-INT:
- You must file this form if $20 or more in interest is earned.
- For other 1099 forms, reporting requirements follow federal guidelines. Payers should determine and file each Form 1099 based on the applicable federal threshold.
Additional Requirements
Kansas requires you to submit a Withholding Tax Reconciliation Form with your 1099.
- When e-filing 1099s, include Form KW-3 (Annual Withholding Tax Return).
- When paper filing, attach both Form KW-3 and Form 1096.
Note: TaxBandits do not support filing "Form KW-3" with the state. The payer is responsible for filing these reconciliation forms before the deadline.
Due Date
- The filing deadline for Form 1099 is January 31.
Note: If this due date falls on a weekend or a federal holiday, the deadline is extended to the next business day.
