Iowa mandates the e-filing of 1099 forms only if the payment is reported during the calendar year. Note: The state does not accept paper copies of 1099.
TaxBandits supports the e-filing of Form 1099 with both the Federal and the Iowa state. However, we do not support filing the Annual withholding “Form VSP 44-007” with the state, and the payer is responsible for filing the form before the deadline.
What to be filed
- All 1099s (TaxBandits supports 1099 MISC, 1099 NEC,1099 INT, 1099 DIV, 1099 B, 1099 R, 1099 K, 1099 G, 1099 OID, 1099-C, W-2G)
- Form 44-007 VSP - Withholding Annual VSP Report.
Due Date
The filing due date for both Form 1099 & Form 44-007 VSP is February 15.
Penalty
A penalty of 10% will be added to the tax due for failure to file 1099 forms, and at least 90% of the correct amount of tax is not paid by the due date. However, if you have filed your 1099 on time but failed to pay at least 90% of the tax amount, the penalty would be an additional 5% of your unpaid tax.
