Employers who filed Form 7200 can expect the letter 6313 when the IRS requires written verification to confirm the address mentioned on the Form is the current business mailing address. The IRS processes Form 7200 or updates the last known address only on receiving the employer's written verification.
Changing the business mailing address:
To update your business address on your Form 7200, you have to complete and submit Form 8822-B, Change of Address or Responsible Party - Business, with sign and date. The IRS will not accept the change in address if you do it directly on your Form 7200.
If no changes are required, and you want the IRS to send the payment to the address stated on your Form 7200, you can check the box on the letter and send it back to the IRS.
Note: If you have failed to respond to this letter, your Form 7200 will not be processed by the IRS.
