If you have filed a W-2 that shouldn't have been filed, you need to void that return using the correction form W-2c. You can void a return that was filed with other service providers or us.

Here’s how to void a W2 that was filed:

  • Sign in to TaxBandits, click Start New Form >> Form W-2c.
  • Select the Tax year.
  • Choose an appropriate option based on how you filed your original return.

W-2s filed with other service providers

  1. Click Continue under I filed my W-2s using other service providers.
  2. Bulk Correction - Click the Select bulk upload button and upload a file with your W-2c details. We will process your file and let you know via email once it is ready for review. Once you approve it, we will then file W-2c for your employees.
  3. Manual Correction - Click the Select manual data entry button and follow the instructions below.
  4. Enter the employer details or pull up their details from the address book.
  5. Enter the employee details.
  6. On the Federal Correction page, select the VOID checkbox and confirm it.
  7. Continue with the flow to transmit the return to the IRS.
